Sabot sailor from all over Southern NSW will converge on Drummoyne Junior Sailing Club for the 2010 Gill Southern NSW Sabots Zone Championship over this weekend the 27th and 28th February, 2010. Young sailors from Vaucluse, Abbotsford, Lane Cove and Hunters Hill will join with Drummoyne's juniors to contest the 7 race regatta.

Southern NSW President Robyn Tames says that weekend is broken up into 2 long course races on the Saturday and 5 short sprint races on the Sunday.

Current NSW Champion Paddy Gilbert in Predator will be looking to add the Zone Title to his list of regatta wins this season that also includes winning the Sabot Australia Day Regatta at Lane Cove. Caitlin Tames in How Sweet it Is from Drummoyne Junior SC and It's All Good, Adam Bloomfield from Hunter Hill SC will be trying to stop Paddy's winning run.

The provisional entry list shows that many Junior 2up crews, new to sailing this season, will be using the Zone Championship as their first experience racing away from their home club. Local boat Firebolt Dana and Jessica Tavener will be looking to lead the way but will face competition from The World is not Enough James Glassock and Leon Perko Marshall from Lane Cove 12ft SSC, Explosion Chris Dixon and Chester Collins from Vaucluse 12ft SC and Boatzilla Robin Biskupic and Jack Hill from Abbotsford 12ft Flying Squadron

50 boats are expected to take part in the weekends racing.
