Ronstan Sail Inland Series 09/10

10:52 AM Wed 30 Sep 2009 GMT

The Sail Inland committee would like to invite all sailors to the Ronstan Sail Inland Series 09/10. Especially those sailors from Inland Clubs that are unable to sail due to the drought. Individual entries are welcome and can be allocated a club team or combined clubs/new club can make up a team.

The aim of the Ronstan Sail Inland Series is to get as many boats on the water. To fulfil this aim the Sail Inland Committee has created a series of races at no cost to Sailors. Having a large fleet of boats on the water will give the opportunity for club members to attain skills, knowledge and the confidence to participate in all aspects of large fleet Sailing Regattas.

The Ronstan Sail Inland Series is a 6 race Series with 2 races held on Sunday morning at Albury Wodonga Yacht Club (Lake Hume) and Yarrawong Yacht Club (Lake Mulwala) with sailors travelling from inland sailing clubs from NE Victoria and Southern NSW compete in the series. Clubs that have competed in the past have included Albury/Wodonga Yacht Club, Bendigo Yacht Club, Waranga Boat Club, Yarrawonga Yacht Club, Wagga Wagga Boat Club and Mokoan Yacht Club. Some of these clubs have combined to make a team and a perpetual trophy is awarded to the best performing team.

The divisions sailed are Trailables, OTB Monohull, Multihull and Juniors. Ronstan are supporting the series with great prizes awarded for individual performance and encouragement.

The dates for the Series are:
Albury Wodonga Yacht Club: Oct 24-25
Yarrawonga Yacht Club: Nov 21-22
Albury Wodonga Yacht Club: Feb 13-14

There is an invitation race at 3pm on Saturday with 2 heats of the series conducted back to back Sunday morning with no start after 2pm.

Camping is available at both venues at no cost, and meals are available at reasonable prices.
