36 A Class Catamarans from Queensland, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory gathered on Lake Cootharaba, at Easter, for the 2010 Queensland State Championships.

Defending Champion, Steve Brewin, from New South Wales, won the eight race series with one race to spare. The second place trophy was won by Queenslander Brad Collett , whilst another New South Welshman, Andrew Landenberger, took home the third place silverware.

These three competitors dominated the racing, sharing around the top three places in every race, with the exception of the last race. The early departure of Steve Brewin, with the Championship in hand, allowed for the overall forth placed Chris Battenberg , from the Northern Territory, to take out a third place in the final race.

Racing was conducted in moderate to fresh south east winds which allowed for exciting and athletic sailing, and allowed for the racing to be held as scheduled.

The top three place getters will be part of the strong Australian contingent, that will be competing in the 2010 International A Class World Championships, to be held in Italy, during late June.
