NSW Minister for Ports and Waterways Paul McLeay today reminded people that hypothermia is one of the hazards of cold water boating. 'The risk of falling overboard or capsizing may be small but the threat to life in such incidents is extremely serious during winter,' Mr McLeay said. 'The recent incident involving five people who had to swim to shore when their runabout got into trouble near the entrance to Botany Bay illustrates the need for boaters to be extra cautious at this time of the year.
