The WSSR Council announces the ratification of a new World Record: The World Women's Sailing Speed Record was broken in Luderitz, Namibia on 28th October by Charlotte Consorti of France. The record was made while using a Kitesurf. Fone Custom, 6sqm Fone Bandit kite. Consorti started the 501m course at 16:13:20.41 and finished at 16:13:39.72 - A total time elapsed of 19.31 seconds! Which means her speed was 50.43 knots. Amazing! The previous record was held by Sjoukje Bredenkamp RSA, 45.20 kts. Consorti is the first woman to have exceeded 50 knots. ...
