The NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) is the state's peak elite sports agency. The Institute supports more than 700 high performance athletes on squad or individual scholarships over 28 sports programs. Our specialist services ensure that NSWIS athletes have access to leading edge coaches and sports technology while also receiving tailored support to help balance their elite sporting commitments with personal development and a career.
NSWIS, in partnership with Yachting Australia and Yachting NSW are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic State High Performance Coach to join our successful team.
The NSWIS State High Performance Coach, will be responsible for implementing and managing the NSW National Training Centre program to maximise development of elite NSW athletes, including Paralympic class athletes to achieve national and international success in line with the national program.
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities but not limited to:
Performance - teams and squad focus; measure the transition of State program athletes to Australian representatives squads and/or teams
Athlete Development - facilitate the development of athletes in key areas
Performance - to work with the MYA to establish & continue to support a strong underpinning program and coach mentoring system
Technical sailing - ability to demonstrate specific skills
Performance Analysis & Feedback
Participate as a member of the Yachting Australia team by assisting in supporting other squads
To be successful you will need to have the following skills and attributes:
Demonstrated skills and proven success in coaching elite Sailing athletes and/or related disciplines with appropriate high performance sport coaching qualifications
Demonstrated ability to identify, initiate and monitor high performance services
Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and lead the program that meets the needs of elite and potential elite athletes and coaches
High level of communication skills
Current driver's and boat licence
Current 1st Aid certificate
Current NCAS Accreditation
Current Yachting Australia membership

Interviews will be conducted on Friday 29th January and those successful for a 2nd interview will have a water component interview on Saturday 30th January 2010.
