Peter McNeill, with crew of David Gleadhill and Anthony Paterson, took out the Etchells Spring Regatta on the home waters of Lake Macquarie over the October long weekend. After a DNC and then a mid-fleet finish, McNeill and his crew looked unlikely winners going into the third race on day one. They then notched up a 1-1-2-2 sequence to seal the regatta by two points from skippers Julian Plante and Gary Boyd, equal on points, with Plante gaining second on countback.
