L'Hydroptere' sailed by Alain Thebault and his crew set a new, yet to be ratified outright sailing speed record in Hyeres (FRA) with a run at 51,36 knots. L'Hydroptere has touched 60 knots but on this September 2 run set two new speed records over 500 metres and 1000 metres - both marks are yet to be ratified by the World Speed Sailing Council.
