'SB3 fleet' Ocean Buro

After an inglorious arrival to paradise by barge, the first SB3 based in the Australian Tropics should appear on local Whitsunday start lines in a few days.

The proud new owner of AUS 3380, Dennis Winstanley, iconic and perennial Australian Windsurfing Champ - has take the step into OD sports boat racing with his new SB3. Dennis will hopefully be the spark to the SB3 fire on Hammilton Island, an ideal venue for the rugged but fast International sports boat.

Now sailed in more than 15 countries, the SB3 continues to set records as a class. With the first non European World Championships to be held in Australian in 2012, the International Status of the SB3 has come of age.

Dennis is looking forward to some ripping rides in the trade wind conditions he calls home. The SB3 is ideally suited to Hammilton Island, being strong and forgiving, fast and fun. The SB3, able to be sailed by three or four, caters for exciting one design sailing or social fun afternoons with a equal aplomb. Dennis has taken advantage of the SB3 class 'Road to Geelong' program and made the choice to pick up one of the just released 'incentive' SB3s from distributor Oceanburo. Aggressively priced, these ex demo boats are designed to build the class quickly. For more information on the class and the 'Road to Geelong' incentive program, please contact Kai Timm at Oceanburo kaitimm(at)oceanburo.com.au.

Dennis joins recent new comers to the class, Andrew Crisp ( TAS ), Mark Wolfenden ( Vic ), Dean Joel ( Vic ), Stephen Fries ( Vic ) Troy Forrest ( Qld ) who have all become excited SB3 owners in the last weeks.
