Former triple Australian Champion and runner up World Champion Gordon Lucas returned to his younger days by sailing Fireball Oz in heat 7 of the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club's Off the Beach Winter Series last Sunday. Sailing conditions in
Gordon along with promising youth sailor Kate Lathouras gave a sailing lesson to the other Fireball with exciting reaches and great beats..
Kate came off the water with a smile, though exhausted she said, "I have never been so fast in a dinghy before. It skipped across the water with great acceleration." It was a shame that their spinnaker halyard jammed.
