A familiar name and face that many big regatta regulars know well will also become part of the team at Sail Port Stephens this year when the event kicks off on the 12th of April.
Rob Hampshire will be managing the Sailing Office at the regatta, working in tandem with Principal Race Officer Denis Thompson and the Corlette Point Race Management team to deliver everything on water.
A veteran of a number of Geelong Weeks and Audi Hamilton Island Race Weeks, Hampshire is looking forward to seven days in a region widely known as the Bluewater Paradise - a place he has spent some good times in over the years.
'I was the Skipper on the Tall Ship, the Enterprise in 2003, and we spent a few months in the Bay in that year - I loved it 'he said.
'It's certainly a great place to sail and I'm really looking forward to being part of the regatta, I've heard plenty of talk about it from a number of owners and crew over the last year, so it will be good fun to be involved with Denis and the local guys 'Hampshire said.
Thompson is delighted to have Hampshire on board.

'Rob is a great resource for Sail Port Stephens to have in its third year, and his knowledge and experience in sailing administration will be of huge benefit to both the competitor base and the Race Management team at this year's event' he said.
With entries closing on April 3rd, there are just over 50 boats already committed to Sail Port Stephens this year, with a number of boat owners and crew still finalising numbers and plans, likely to enter over the next 10 days.
Regatta organisers are quietly confident there will be around 85 boats across the week, contesting the Cruisey Commodores Cup, the Port Stephens Trophy, the SB3 National Championship and the Yachting NSW IRC Championship.
