Racing has finished in the 50th Barfoot and Thompson 12ft skiff Interdominion, being sailed from Auckland Sailing Club on the inner Waitemata harbour.
Two teams of 12 boats each represent Australia and New Zealand - both competing for the individual trophy, as well as the Brooke Trophy for best scoring team/country.
Race 10 looked at one stage like it wasn't going to happen. A dying breeze had some worried faces hoping for breeze. About 1pm the breeze filled in enough to finally get a race away. The first leg Frankienskiff was in front of Dimension Polyant Australia and looking good for a win and then things turned.
Frankienskiff didn't keep a good cover on Dimension Polyant Australia and they sailed through them to secure First spot overall.
The last race saw the kiwi team extend its lead over the aussies again to take out the John Brooke Memorial Teams Trophy in convincing fashion.
All in all it has been a fantastic regatta and a close battle. The competitors would like to thank all those volunteers who gave up their time to help make this regatta such a success. And also the sponsors of the regatta Barfoot and Thompson, Maersk, Custom Solutions, Harken and Phillpot carriers.
