Cruising Yacht Club of Australia Sydney Hobart Yacht Race Safety of Life at Sea Trusts (SOLAS) has made a donation to Volunteer Marine Rescue Southport of $13,300 to upgrade radio equipment at their Gold Coast base and for their three rescue vessels. This is the second donation the CYCA SOLAS Trusts has made to VMR Southport, with the first donation of $13,000 made in March 2007 for equipment for its then new rescue vessel. VMR Southport is a voluntary organisation that monitors local and emergency radio frequencies on the Gold Coast. They have three rescue vessels in their fleet, 75 ...
