The Buddy Melges Challenge is being sailed from the eighth to the 12th September at the U.S. Sailing Center in Sheboygan, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Sailed in a fleet of the new Elliott 6m Olympic class boats, the Challenge has drawn teams from around the world to compete in this ISAF Grade 1 event. On day one teams took to the water in light conditions. Australian skippers, Nicky Souter and Katie Spithill sit on top of Group B with three wins a piece (3-0). Juliana Senfft (BRA) is third (2-1).
