'Team Whistler - British Three Peaks race'

Tasmanian Three Peaks Race champions, Team Whistler, have finished third overall in the rugged British Three Peaks Race after coming a close second in the final long sailing leg. It is the best-ever performance by an Australian team in the 'grandfather' of three peaks racing. Remarkably, after a sail of 389 nautical miles, from Barmouth in Wales to Fort William in Scotland, with stopovers to climb two mountains, the first four boats arrived at Fort William this morning, Australian eastern time, within half an hour of each other.
