Despite strong winds, the Australian Sports Boat Association (ASBA) National Titles commenced today at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS). This fourth annual event opened to a forecast of 20-30knots and the heavy conditions already taking their toll with several boats forced to retire early on day one. The strong wind forecast meant that the traditional Wednesday Afternoon Go Sailing (WAGS) yacht race was cancelled due to safety concerns.
