There was a major contrast for the conditions in the two heats. Race was sailed in a pleasant 5-8 knots, whereas race 2 was in a blustery 20-30 knots. Ben Schulz/ Sam Gunner had a great first race 1 and led at the finish, but were OCS on the start, giving the win to Nathan Stockley/ David Kemp. Michael Thompson/ Eddy Alder and Greg Alison/Richard Watson had been leading but missed a shift to let the others through. Race 2 was very different and became a race of attrition.
