One of the features of the new AC45 yacht, designed as a trainer racer for the 34th America's Cup, is the wingsail. At the Core Composites building facility in Warkworth, 40 minutes north of Auckland, a mould is being built to produce the wingsails for the new one design. Looking remarkably like something out of a model plane construction kit, the main spar male mould is being is being constructed in two halves, but will not be CNC milled like the hulls.
