Day 2 of Geographe Bay Race Week was full of mixed fortunes. Peter Chappell's Rum Jungle took line honours in the sportsboat division while Tim Reger's Viper 640 won handicap honours ahead of a second Viper sailed by Rod Beurteaux.

David Clifton's Eftel streeted the premier cruising division but Corniche won on handicap after a race-long battle with Slipstream, their second close contest in two days. With 26 yachts competing, this is the largest division in the regatta and sees a host of non-IRC yachts as well as some beautiful genuine cruising vessels. Competition here is as fierce as in any of the IRC divisions!

Optimus Prime and a couple of the other big boats wormed their way through a black hole at Bunker Bay while others parked for a very long time before finally emerging. Next Factor took the IRC win in Div 1, Mind's Eye in Div 2 and R2D2 in Div 3. Matador, Michael Cameron's Albany based Flying Tiger, continues to set the pace at the head of the Div 3 fleet, while David Gilham's Arajilla was first to finish in div 2. All three IRC fleets are enjoying remarkably close racing.
