You've probably got fluro colours allready, just go full 80's retro and wear speedos only. WaterSkiers use wetsuit shorts. Try those maybe.

This is part of the reason i went back to a waist harness. Too many times certain anatomical parts ended up getting caught in places they didn't belong.

I'm just thinking aloud , and is it just me ,.. but I'm thinking , my shorts would ride down when waterstarting.
Are you waterstarting upside down ?
Could be a technique thing.
Hang on...
Kiting could be a good stepping stone towards winging. All your feelings says so. Your welcome
ps, ?
" On waterstarting my shorts ride up ". Is that a metaphor that cyclists use before docking ?

Lightweight short shorts always seem to ride up. Heavier weight slightly longer boardies stay down way better.

A mate of mine did this at LG, not knowing that 2 female sailors were upwind of him on a quiet morning. Very entertaining good thing it couldn't be seen from the rigging area....

What's wrong with Speedos?

You want shorts that aren't so loose. Mine usually ride down especially when doing forwards. Maybe try going for forwards then?

Better riding up than off.
But you will be "cooler" if your short ride off v. up.

Decades ago (mid 90's) we took a day trip to Coche to windsurf some real flat water. Speed runs within a meter or two of the beach. Lot of dead, dying small jelly fish parked at the western end of the beach. Friend blew a jibe and ended up having one of those jelly fish float up his board shorts. In this case maybe better for the shorts to be riding down and off.

No short issues at home. Local windsurfing conditions are too cold not be wearing neoprene.

Update : longer shorts as suggested have done the trick.

jelly fish, yep, saw the first one at my local whilst skinny dipping waist high a few days ago - I looked down and saw a red strand inches away from the old chap. Sudden fear took new meaning and still go cold at the flashback. Gunna be long shorts always now.

wearing the mid-thigh length spandex shorts as a liner under your board shorts lets the board short legs slip back into place after waterstart
