In my defense, it's to smash the white water with my 6 year old son. He won't let me push him onto waves, nor drag him out to the waves anymore, so I figured I'd just join him and drag along side.
The board is about as cheap as you can go for one with stringers (this one has double stringers).
I really put a lot of thought into a mat instead, but when I was shopping at Goodtime they were short on mat stock. The one's they did have gave me PTSD of bleeding nipples from riding mats as a kid 40 years ago.
Mac, I see a couple of your boards for sale at the moment ,what are you riding currently?and Damned I never thought I would be considering a bogger but I am ,I have a Matt as well,but they are so hard to master,quite frustrating actually,but ,back to your post I'm loving getting in the water with the grand kids as well ,that is definitely my surfing future

Yeah it's a Prince. I did a bit of research on line a couple of my mates have them and highly rate them I watched one at Kirra a few weeks ago and he surfed it very well compared to what I've seen him ride on similar size boards. My last two sugars I had hard edges put on the back it was an improvement but man they are hard the turn and just didn't suit my form of sugar but very fast down the line. Can't wait for the Prince to be finished.
Not that it's the same, but my 11' Surftech Prince turns like a dream.
The Boog is just plain fun. I'm catching whitewater alongside my soon-to-be 7 year old, in amongst all the other 7 yr old nippers. Hooting and hollering and having a ball. Three more weeks of the Nipper season, and I'll be betting that before the end of the season, there'll be other parents joining me on boogs.
It sounds ridiculous to say, but I'm almost disappointed I didn't spend more on a higher end boog.

I had the original surftech prince.bought it new 15 years ago,kept it for three definitely the best board I have had,still kicking myself for selling it,people think getting an original Munoz is hard, try getting your hands on an original tuflite Tak Prince !!! I traded it in Byron and have been hoping to come across it ,but no luck yet .
How wide are these puppies? I've got two gliders. 11'6 and 11. Very very different boards with 2" difference in width.
Drip, if you mean the Tak prince usually 24.25 .the old tuflites were 24.5. Sounds wide but they were great to surf !

The mct sugar 11 foot comes standard at 23 3/4 x 3 3/4 thick the Prince I'm having made is 23 3/4 x 3 1/2

As an aside, I've been eying off an old board of Asea's that made it over here. Over the last 8 months the price has almost dropped to what I'm willing to pay.

Killing people is a definite concern. They are big heavy beasts with long leashes. I run a 12' CoL Outer Reef on my boards. I've weighed them. One weighs 18kg. Throw that at the end of a 23 arc and that's a lot of people I can take out. And the waves I surf them on have tended to be reefies that break on an outer shelf, back off then reform on the inside, so there are a bunch of shortboarders all sitting on the inside peak in a condensed pack. I definitely don't want to be stuffing up a cutty.

Mac. IMO you are now with the right brand,Donald had a very KISS principle with his bottom shapes ,predominantly rolls and vee for me meaning you can surf them more forward,look forward to a ride report.
My only concern Mac will have to go and pump iron to carry it. Lovely board but I do prefer tuflite in that size, old age is my excuse.??

Picking it up tomorrow, no doubt it's going to be a quality board the ITP these guys made me was next level dam I took it to Hawaii and it was unreal only to get fked up by the airline on own return

I agree with the 'arc of destruction' - although have you considered your height into that arc? let's say you fall off sideways and not pin drop. If I'm on my 12', that's 12' of board, 10' of leggie (assuming no stretch) and then my 6'. It's an impressive arc of destruction. I'm trying to coin a new phrase here... 'arc of destruction'.
At 24+" width, I find carrying it wax to my side gives me a better grip on the rail - for whatever reason. My 12' Munoz is 26". That one tends to get carried on my head a la Endless Summer.
My 10'6" Munoz is my go to board these days, for where I tend to surf. The Prince gets pulled out if I'm heading to Noosa or similar.
The 11' and 12' Munoz seem to be 'benched' these days. They don't see much action since I got my hands on the 10'6", neither do my 10'1" or 10'3" Creative Army customs, despite being amazing boards in their own right.
All that said, if I could only keep one board, it'd probably be the 12' Munoz - it's just too much fun, and much more versatile than one would think.
And again, Macaha, waiting for that report.
