Owen Wright's perfect 20 at Cloudbreak

Two perfect heat totals - 20 points x 2... Pic: Dragon/WSL
How do you score a perfect 20 you ask? You surf like an absolute bloody legend in Fiji – like Owen Wright did this week at the 2015 Fiji Pro at Cloudbreak.

Best of all, he did it old school. No airs. Not one. Those fins stayed under that tropical blue water of Cloudbreak the whole time. Pure, classic surfing in conditions that would put your mind surf’s to shame. Fiji truly turned it on for the surfers in the WSL this year, but none score waves quite like Mr Wright.

He takes off in the white – then lines up for one massive smack, into the barrel, ducks under the lip and claims it like the champ he is. Ten points.

Quick takeoff, into the barrel again, he’s in there, still in there, still charging down the line as quick as he can go. Duck under another lip, claim it again. Ten points.

That’s how you score the perfect 20 points.

Oh, and then you do it all again. TWICE! It’s never been done in professional
surfing before, and when you watch the video you’ll see why. Waves like that
come once in a lifetime, and Owen’s just happened to be during the 2015 Fiji
Pro. Of course he won, who else is going to pull totals like that?
