Japan: The unexpected SUP Paradise for EVERY Discipline.

What about a SUP trip with variety? Culture? Excitement? Japan might be your answer...
Think of a great place to go stand up paddleboarding. (No really, picture it in your mind). What are you seeing?

Blue water? Coral reefs? White sand? Sure, those things are great, but once you've done a couple of SUP holidays to Fiji or Bali, you've been there, surfed that. What about a trip with variety? Culture? Excitement? Plus all the waves, racing, and whitewater conditions that dreams are made of.

Mo Freitas dreamed these things, and he was lead to Japan. Home to a thriving culture of surfing and stand up paddleboarding,, Japan is an unexpected SUP paradise for those looking for something different to the norm. Their whitewater scene is huge, with world class rivers set against gorgeous backdrops and a strong group of stoked paddlers. Rafts are old news over there, only the tourists can be seen bouncing down the rivers on their behinds. The locals are all stand up on inflatables now, and it's one of the fastest growing sports in the country.

Wait, there's more! Flat water racing with some bumps to ride, plus some fun beachies for some aerial surfing action. That's just one week of the trip though, because the next week saw a pumping swell rolling in with double overhead sets and perfect offshore winds.

Don't believe us? Check out the video, expertly shot by Mo himself and full of interesting lifestyle scenes, it's 7 minutes of great stand up paddling action that's totally different from your usual tropical affair!
