Rolex Partners with World Sailing after Rich History in Yach

That easily distinguishable logo, those stickers, Rolex have have been part of sailing since the 'Oyster', their first waterproof watch released in

If there's one name that's synonymous with the worldwide yacht racing scene, it's Rolex. The watch company has been at the forefront of sailing sponsorship since waaaay back when they first sponsored the Fastnet Race, then the Sydney to Hobart, and now there's a list of world class events sporting the name Rolex in the title. Currently, they make around 2000 watches per day, and enjoy the title of being the worlds largest luxury watch manufacturer.

In addition to sponsoring these races, Rolex have now decided to officially partner with World Sailing, an organization tasked with the worldwide promotion of sailing as a sport. In addition to their promotion work, World Sailing are the people who decide on the rules, supervise events and handle disciplinary action against sailors if required (thankfully, that's pretty rare). There's a big list of stuff they do on their website but more importantly, Rolex have just signed on to be the official supporter of the organization. That means more money, more initiatives, and more excitement about sailing worldwide.

That's a GREAT thing!

Also on the list of sponsored events from Rolex are:

The Rolex Sydney to Hobart The Rolex Fastnet Race The Rolex TP52 Worlds The Giraglia Rolex Cup (in Italy) The Rolex Maxi Yacht Cup (Italy too) The Rolex Middle Sea Race (Malta) The Rolex Swan Cup.
