An inside job on the Team Vodaphone Mast

An inside job on the Team Vodaphone mast
You know you’ve got a serious boat, when fixing the internals of your mast requires a guy to get inside it…

Team Vodaphone are embarking on a lengthy mission to repair their mast after it snapped in four places last February. Made from composite, they guys have been covered in epoxy and carbon for four months straight while they put it back together.

Now, they’re almost done with the exception of a bit of curing. To help things along, the guys are using special high-tech curing boxes, made up of cardboard or foam boxes and heaters to boost the temperature.  All that’s left is adding the fairings and fittings, then the painters can have their way with it.

Installing the mast won't be an easy task either, there's going to be cranes, lots of shouting and a collective 'aahhhh' of satisfaction when it's done.

After almost six months off the water, it'll be good to see the guys from NZ step back on board Team Vodaphone!
