RB12 powers into the British Powerboat Festival

RB12, the Round Britain land, sea and air marathon will once again be supporting the British Powerboat Festival in Cowes on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

RB12 is a new and unique event. Starting on 21 June 2012 it will be the first time 50 cars, 50 boats and 50 aircraft will compete around Great Britain simultaneously. Comprising of 10 gruelling legs the event will begin and end at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy, venue for the 2012 Olympics sailing events.

Only 12 of the 50 places remain available on the boat entry list for the RB12 sea element. Organisers of RB12 will be at the British Powerboat Festival to finalise the entry list and provide further information to competitors on race logistics and the car and aircraft elements of the event.

The British Powerboat Festival will feature the famous annual Cowes-Torquay-Cowes race and a host of other spectacular power boat racing. Racing will take place on both Saturday and Sunday, subject to weather conditions.

RB12 organisers will be at the prize giving on Sunday at the Royal Yacht Squadron, where they will present a number of the prestigious trophies.
