Kitebud is hiring a part-time instructor
Kitebud is a reputable 5-star rated kitesurfing school in windy Perth, Western Australia ( g.page/KiteBud ). We are known for consistently delivering high-quality private lessons and training all our students to become safe and genuinely independent kitesurfers. We teach in the Ocean (choppy deep water) with 20-25 knots side to side-on shore winds. On average, we have 5 to 6 windy days per week in the peak season (November to February).
Pre-requisites:
Have the right to work legally in Australia (Working Holiday visa or other)
Current instructor certificate: IKO Lvl 1, KA lvl 1 or BKSA lvl 1
Be fluent in English
1 Season experience teaching
Valid First Aid certificate
Working with Children Check
Be available to work from early November to early March
Tasks:
Prepare the kitesurfing school equipment for the day
Teach one-on-one beginner lessons with Radio-helmets
Help clean up and pack the equipment at the end of the day
Write a progress report at the end of the day for each student and upload student's footage
Help with the sale of Kitesurfing equipment
Equipment maintenance
The new Kitebud instructor will have to comply to a very high standard of teaching. The new instructor will be closely trained at the beginning of the season and will receive ongoing training throughout the season. The new instructor must be able and open to change its teaching technique to adapt to our standards.
Schedule: The part time instructor will have a minimum of 15 hours of teaching per week over 4 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday). Possible additional teaching, depending on the administrative workload. The instructor must arrive 45 minutes before the lessons starts and leave when all the equipment is clean and packed up. Progression reports and footage must be uploaded before 8 pm. Additional non-teaching work hours will get paid at minimum wage.
