Subcon Technologies Pty Ltd has completed installation of the Shoalhaven Recreational Fishing Reef.The reef consists of 5 clusters of 4 modules each based on Subcon's patented Reef Temple" design.  

The design is an Australian innovation which provides a unique combination of crypted spaces and vertical relief in order to create a structure that can support a diverse and sustainable fish population.

The reef design, fabrication and installation was performed by Subcon with support from the University of Western Australia and local subcontractors in Sydney and Wollongong.  

The reef, sponsored by NSW DPI was announced by Minister Katrina Hodgkinson and Member for Kiama Gareth Ward was delivered in record time by Subcon and was placed exactly on the design location by their offshore construction barge.

Dr Heath Folpp, Manager of the NSW Department of Primary Industry said "Subcon's innovative artificial reef module design and their extensive offshore marine construction experience has ensured the new reef installed off Shoalhaven Heads in NSW will be a great success. The installation of the reef modules was performed with the up-most professionalism and I congratulate the whole Subcon team for their seamless execution of the fabrication and installation of the new reef."
