Salmon School Goes into Frenzy around SUP's

The Salmon were chasing these little guys...
Love salmon? Your dreams would have come true if you happened to be standing on the beach in Perth this week, as hundred (if not thousands) of Salmon went into a feeding frenzy right on the beach at Bicton.

The group was just about to enter the water for a lesson, when the surface exploded! While they stood back and watched it all unfold, salmon in the 2-4kg range were sliding right up on the beach. Forget the rod and reel, a cast net would have been plenty to catch more than the bag limit in one throw!

Speaking of which, the bag limit for Western Australian Salmon is 4 per angler, with a minimum size of 300mm. This time of year is prime season for them, and without the assistance of a school of baitfish to attract them, your best bet is to use mulies, gardies, pipis or beach worms. Keep it close to shore in the shallows.

Watch this feeding frenzy of Australian Salmon in Perth, Western Australia force a group of stand up paddlers out of the water.
