Research on Victoria's Lake Nagambi kicks off

Victoria's Fisheries have begun work surveying Lake Nagambie anglers to determine the success of recent fish stocking exercises.  Over the past three years in excess of 600,000 golden perch and 150,000 Murray Cod fingerlings have been released into the lake.

Two different approach are being taken to measuring the success of the stocking.

Firstly from December to April anglers will be interviewed regarding their catch rates, time spent on the lake etc.  The second approach is directly sampling the fish to survey their growth, survival and breeding.
