New South Wales recreational fishos will benefit from over $14m worth of projects in 2010-11 in a new raft of projects to be funded by then NSW Recreational Fishing Trust.
 
The programs will see $10m spent on saltwater projects and $4m spent on freshwater programs including:
 
- fish aggregating devices (FADs) in various locations including in coastal waters from Byron Bay to Eden;
- the expansion of artificial reefs in estuaries such as Botany Bay and St Georges Basin;
- feasibility studies for three artificial reefs off the coast of Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong;
- research project to provide biological information on Murray cod in the northern Murray-Darling River system;
- fish habitat restoration works
- freshwater fish stocking program and feasibility of an ongoing marine stocking program; and
- installation of fish cleaning tables at a number of locations across NSW.
